Choi Woong (born Choi Sun-woong on December 28, 1986, in Daegu, South Korea) is a South Korean actor and model who rose to prominence through his work in several highly successful television series, establishing himself as a reliable supporting player in K-dramas. Choi Woong studied Modeling at Daekyeung University, laying the foundation for his entrance into the entertainment industry. He officially debuted in 2011, notably gaining early recognition as the model for the popular Bacchus energy drink commercial, which often features inspiring stories. This modeling work quickly led him to transition into acting. He began accumulating credits in major series early on, including roles in the 2012 series Bridal Mask and the 2013 time-slip drama Nine: Nine Times Time Travel, where he played the lead villain's stoic secretary. He also starred in the drama Secret Love (2013). Choi Woong has consistently taken on diverse roles across multiple genres. He appeared in the youth sports drama Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo (2016) and played Na Soo-ho in the crime thriller Duel (2017). He also found success in historical dramas, starring as Jung Sa-yeob, a crucial supporting character, in the popular historical romance 100 Days My Prince (2018). In 2020, he starred as Han Sang-min in the financial thriller Money Game and took on a leading role as Kang Dae-ro in the long-running KBS daily drama No Matter What. More recently, he was cast as the lead character Seo Jin-ho in the 2024 daily drama Scandal.
